Person and Family Law is the reflection of man in society.  This legal domain is subjected in tempore suspecto to all possible ethical, political, sociological and economic influences, and forms a challenge for any lawyer familiarising himself with Person and Family Law, albeit for the typical personal and confidential relation between lawyer and client involved in many of such dossiers.

Within the framework of Person and Family Law, the office activities are situated mainly but not exclusively in the domain of the Marriage and Divorce Law, the Marriage Property Law and the Law of Inheritance, the Juvenile Law, the Law of Descent and the Immigration Laws.

Due to recent changes, permanent further training in these various subjects is a necessity.

The Marriage Property Law has a previous phase of the engagements during the engagement period

The Marriage Property Law not only concerns the settlement / distribution following a divorce, but also the consequences following a divorce in the field of taxes / retirement pay / inheritance. .

Juvenile Law includes any disputes concerning the parental authority, residence regulation, and the right to personal contact, the youth protection law, settlement of damage, assistance when demanding alternative measures and sanctions on behalf of the minor, etc.

Procedures regarding urgent and temporary measures are used both in Marriage and Divorce Law and in Juvenile Law.

The Law of Inheritance includes: advice and procedures concerning any disputed donations, wills, inheritances and succession duties.

As regards the Law of Descent, the office will assist the client with all procedures involving recognition of children, name change, adoption etc.

The office will also assist the client with Guardianship Law, and whenever the client is confronted with neighbours’ quarrels, stalking, beating or the problems of alcoholism / addiction/mental illness (appointment of a temporary conservator) and in general damage compensations.

The Immigration Law is a very specific branch within the Person and Family Law. The client may always appeal to us, not only for assistance in asylum procedures, family reunification, regularisation of immigration, medical residence right etc.
