News: Extended bankruptcy Insurance for self-employed people - 04/10/07

As of July 1st 2007, the bankruptcy insurance for self-employed people was extended.

The social statute of self-employed people included a bankruptcy insurance. All self-employed people, complying with the conditions, are covered by this insurance.

This insurance covers the preservation of the right to a family allowance and health care for one year without having to pay any contribution.

In addition, the self-employed person in bankruptcy is entitled to an allowance for six months at the most, following the bankruptcy. During the first two months the allowance is 888.78 Euro or 740.65 Euro without family responsibilities. During the last four months, the allowance is 592.52 Euro or 444.39 Euro without family responsibilities.

As of July 1st 2007, the term of the allowance has been doubled, meaning that the allowance will be paid for a maximum of twelve months. And the amount itself has been increased, to 1,005,48 Euro with family responsibilities and  754.29 Euro without family responsibilities.
