1) Except for any agreement to the contrary, the fees will be calculated on the basis of hourly tariffs.

2)  A) The hourly tariff is agreed in function of the following additional factors:

•     the experience of the lawyer and his seniority at the bar;

•     the nature and scope of the dossier to be treated;

•     the lawyer’s preferred subjects;

•     the financial possibilities of the client.

    B) By application of a coefficient, the hourly tariff is related to the performances delivered and the real degree of difficulty of the dossier is being determined.

    C) “No cure, no pay” is not allowed. It might be possible to agree on a separate “success fee” for some of the dossiers.

3) The client will be invited to pay a provision to cover future performances and expenses. In addition, any regular (monthly) performances and expenses may be charged with invitation to pay.

4) In case our invoices are not paid, this will lead to postponement, or even termination of our work, regardless of any related procedures.

5) A first consultation, during which we discuss whether the office is able to accept the case and the conditions thereof, will not be charged. In case acceptance of the case should require a previous study, we might ask a fixed amount for that.

6) In principle, the cases are entrusted to the office. The client is free to choose a lawyer within the office. The lawyer consulted is obliged to inform the client about the most appropriate lawyer within the office in function of the nature of the case.

7) The client must know that the business of the office will be treated in accordance with the behavioural code for practising the profession of lawyer.

8) When giving an address for any correspondence or any intervention of persons appointed by him, the client must ensure that the confidentiality between lawyer – client is not harmed.

9) The treatment of the case requires the commitment of the client. He must be prepared to provide additional information on first request and to answer any of our requests, in view of related procedures.

10) The civil liability of the office and any of its lawyers will be limited to the amounts insured.
